Crimea deoccupation strategy: Cabinet approves action plan
The government passed the relevant decision at its regular meeting on Wednesday, September 29, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“I will tell you about the action plan for the implementation of the Crimea deoccupation strategy. The document has been submitted to the government today and it has been approved. Together with the relevant strategy, it will be our comprehensive roadmap, through which we will regain the Ukrainian Crimea,” said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
He reiterated “comprehensive decisions” the authorities have been making on the issue, involving world-renowned experts and analysts.
“We are documenting all crimes committed by the aggressor power, and we will force Russia to pay for this in international courts. We’re working with our partner countries and within the framework of international organizations and international agreements, so that the topic of Crimea remains on the global agenda," the prime minister stressed.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on March 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of March 11, 2021, "On the Strategy of Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol."
On August 23, Kyiv hosted an inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform initiative, attended by forty-six national delegations.
The Crimea Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to increase the effectiveness of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations and protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal of deoccupying Crimea and ensuring its return to Ukraine.
