No signals Russia ready to hold Normandy foreign ministers' meeting - Kuleba
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this at an online briefing on Wednesday, October 13, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
Kuleba said that this year, his German or French colleague asked him several times about his readiness to meet in the Normandy format at the level of foreign ministers. Kuleba said he had always declared his readiness to meet, but each time this meeting did not take place because Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov avoided it in every possible way.
"I will be glad if the result of the last conversation between the French president, the German chancellor and the Russian president is a clear instruction from President Putin to Minister Lavrov to take part in the ministerial meeting, and he will do so, rather than find a reason to avoid this meeting again. I am ready for this conversation, so we are waiting, in fact, for a signal from Moscow. We have not received any signals so far. As soon as they make the decision, we will be ready to hold such a meeting," Kuleba said.
The Elysee Palace reported on October 12 that following a phone call between the leaders of the Normandy Four countries, all parties had agreed to organize a meeting at the level of foreign ministers between France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine in the next few weeks.
