Latvia’s foreign minister outlines international actions in support of Ukraine
“We are currently getting ready for the Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled for December 15. It is necessary to prepare a package of documents for it, to outline how the cooperation between the European Union and the EaP countries, especially with Ukraine, will be strengthened,” Rinkēvičs said in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to Rinkēvičs, the issue of assistance to Ukraine was also discussed during his meetings within the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as at the talks of the foreign ministers of the three Baltic states with UK’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Elizabeth Truss last week.
The Latvian minister also stressed that the international partners “would like to see the dynamic progress of reforms in the development of the state in Ukraine.” “However, we hope that domestic political issues will not interfere with the overall reformist mood," Rinkēvičs summed up.
