Ukraine, U.S. agree on date for Strategic Partnership Commission meeting in Washington - Kuleba

Ukraine and the United States will soon announce the date for a meeting of the Strategic Partnership Commission in Washington, where they will adopt an updated Charter on Strategic Partnership between the two countries, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

He announced this at an online briefing on Wednesday, October 27, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The date has been set. We will soon announce it together with the United States. The meeting will take place in Washington and accordingly, it will be my visit to Antony Blinken," he said.

Kuleba said he would not fly to Washington alone. "It will be a very serious, difficult visit. Representatives of various ministries and agencies will fly, and I will not be the only government member visiting the United States," he said.

He stressed that Ukraine is focused on the maximum result and is working closely with U.S. colleagues.

Kuleba also said that an updated Charter on Strategic Partnership, which Presidents Joseph Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky had instructed to adopt at this meeting, was nearing completion.

On September 9, the Ukrainian part of the Strategic Partnership Commission identified three tasks for its further work, including reform of the Commission, providing the U.S. side with a Ukrainian draft of the Charter on Strategic Partnership, and preparing a plan for the country's transformation.
