Parliament dismisses Deputy Prime Minister Urusky

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has dismissed Oleh Urusky from the post of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries.

Some 342 MPs voted in favor of the relevant decision at a parliament’s meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

On November 1, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky submitted his letter of resignation to the Verkhovna Rada. Urusky had held the post from July 16, 2020.

MPs from the Servant of the People at a meeting of the faction on November 1 supported the appointment of the current head of the State Customs Service, Pavlo Riabikin, to replace Oleh Urusky. The Verkhovna Rada plans to vote on the appointment of Riabikin to the post on Thursday, November 4.
