President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with President of Poland Andrzej Duda, Ukrinform reports, referring to the Ukrainian president’s press service.

“Particular attention was paid to the coordination of the parties' positions on counteraction to the Nord Stream 2 project. The interlocutors were unanimous in their assessments of Nord Stream 2 primarily as a security threat and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to further opposition to the project,” reads the report.

In particular, Zelensky stressed “this is in the interests of Europe's energy security in general."

In addition, the parties paid special attention to promising projects of cooperation in the energy sector, in particular, on the establishment of alternative ways of gas supply.

Zelensky informed Duda about the development of the security situation in the east of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president also raised the issue of ensuring freedom of movement in the current difficult epidemic conditions. He said he believes that no additional restrictions on entry to the Republic of Poland would be introduced for Ukrainian citizens.

Zelensky separately raised the issue of increasing the quota of permits for Ukrainian road carriers.

The presidents agreed to exchange visits and hold a series of events dedicated to the significant anniversaries of Ukrainian-Polish relations - the 30th anniversary of Poland's recognition of Ukraine's independence, the establishment of diplomatic relations and the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

As reported, a large group of migrants approached the Belarusian-Polish border on Monday, trying to forcibly enter Poland.

As a result, the barriers on the border were partially destroyed, and Poland's law enforcement officers used tear gas to stop the migrants.

A meeting of the government crisis headquarters and a meeting of the National Security Bureau chaired by President Andrzej Duda were held in Warsaw.
