Yermak, Kuleba discuss situation on Ukraine border with Sullivan

According to the report, they met as part of participation in a meeting of the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission in Washington.

The parties discussed the whole range of issues on the bilateral agenda, including cooperation in the political, security and economic spheres, the report said.

"Andriy Yermak, Dmytro Kuleba and Jacob Sullivan exchanged views on the situation on the Ukrainian border. The Advisor to the President of the United States was informed about the current situation and the steps taken by the Ukrainian side to resume the negotiation process for a peaceful settlement in the east," the report reads.

Yermak thanked the U.S. side for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and expressed confidence that the successful visit by the Ukrainian president to the United States in September this year is a sign of new opportunities for building Ukrainian-American relations.

Yermak expressed gratitude for the security assistance provided by the United States to Ukraine.

The parties discussed energy security issues in Ukraine and Europe in the context of the Nord Stream 2 project, as well as the importance of preventing Russia from using the gas pipeline to achieve its foreign policy goals.

Yermak expressed confidence that the signing of the updated U.S.-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership will become an enhanced model of cooperation in the field of security and defense.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on November 10 signed the U.S.-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership, which sets out the main directions of bilateral relations in key areas for decades to come.
