Stoltenberg invites Ukraine to NATO foreign ministerial meeting
“NATO’s support to Ukraine is not a threat to Russia. NATO and Allied exercises in the Black Sea region are defensive and transparent. Minister Kuleba, we will remain in close touch on this situation [build-up of Russian troops on Ukraine’s borders]. And I look forward to welcoming you to Riga to participate in the NATO foreign ministerial meeting there next month,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels today, following the talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In turn, Kuleba thanked for the invitation and expressed confidence in the continuation of Ukraine's fruitful partnership with the North Atlantic Alliance.
As reported, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba makes a working visit to Brussels. One of the main topics in the negotiations with the EU and NATO partners is the security situation around Ukraine after Russia's latest steps to ramp up its military presence on Ukraine's borders and in its temporarily occupied territories in Crimea and Donbas.
