Britain’s top diplomat assures of UK’s readiness to take concrete steps to support Ukraine's sovereignty

The United Kingdom is ready to take concrete action to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

That’s according to Liz Truss, UK’s Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth and Development Affairs who spoke for the first time with Ukraine’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba during a meeting of the NATO North Atlantic Council in Riga on December 1, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The interlocutors discussed in detail the security situation in the occupied territories and along Ukraine's state border, exchanged views on important areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom within existing and new formats toward strengthening security in the wider Black Sea region.

Liz Truss has assured Dmytro Kuleba of the United Kingdom's readiness to take concrete action to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, to provide practical assistance in strengthening the country's defense capabilities and economic stability.

The top diplomats agreed on a number of concrete actions within the framework of a comprehensive package of measures to deter Russia from a new wave of aggression against Ukraine. Liz Truss assured that Great Britain is ready, together with Ukraine, to mobilize support of the allies against the background of Russia's aggressive moves.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy welcomed the position of his British counterpart on the need to unite the efforts of European countries to prevent the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Dmytro Kuleba and Liz Truss separately discussed the development of trade and attracting British investment for the development of Ukraine's economy and unlocking the full potential of the free trade zone between the two countries.
