Kuleba, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State coordinate positions ahead of her visit to Moscow
"The parties coordinated the positions of Ukraine and the United States ahead of the Assistant Secretary of State's visit to Moscow. The American side agreed with the principle of 'no decisions on Ukraine without Ukraine' underscored by Dmytro Kuleba," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informs.
As noted, the United States also reaffirmed its unwavering support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty and its readiness to further implement, together with Kyiv and its European allies, a comprehensive deterrence package to thwart a new phase of aggression against Ukraine.
During the meeting, Kuleba stressed Ukraine's commitment to political and diplomatic methods of resolving the Russian–Ukrainian armed conflict and welcomed the active involvement of the United States in diplomatic efforts on de-escalation and peaceful settlement.
He shared with his interlocutor a vision of ways to effectively implement the Minsk Agreements, including Russia's steps in the security and humanitarian spheres, which can reduce tensions and unblock the peace process.
As reported, Dr. Karen Donfried, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, will visit Kyiv and Moscow on December 13-15 to discuss the buildup of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border. On December 15-16, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State will travel to Brussels to hold consultations with NATO allies and EU partners on efforts to reach a diplomatic solution.
