Talks on a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin are not in an active phase.

"These talks were initiated but now they are not in an active phase," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba told journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As reported, on April 20, 2021, Zelensky addressed Putin, suggesting to meet "anywhere in the Ukrainian Donbas, where the war is ongoing."

In June, Zelensky said that the ball was in Russia’s court in the issue of a probable meeting. "Our administrations discussed agenda, timeline, and venue," the President of Ukraine said.

On June 30, commenting on the possibility of meeting with Zelensky, Putin said that it makes no sense as all issues in Ukraine are allegedly "resolved in Washington, Berlin, and Paris." Zelensky responded that any statements about the so-called "external management" of Ukraine are just a propaganda mantra for the domestic consumer in Russia.
