Zhovkva, Mure discuss situation in Donbas, Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration
Zhovkva briefed the interlocutor on the security situation in Donbas. He noted the importance of a coordinated response of the international community to yet another escalation around the borders of Ukraine and emphasized the need for Ukraine's partners in NATO and EU to coordinate the necessary measures to react to the potential escalation of the security situation, the President’s Office informs.
Mure reiterated Estonia’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The parties discussed in detail the cooperation of countries in the context of implementing Ukraine’s strategic course towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit, which will take place in Brussels on December 15. Zhovkva thanked Estonia for signing the declaration in support of Ukraine’s European prospects.
"The relevant work continues. We intend to form a wide range of European Union Member States that support our European integration course," Zhovkva said.
Deputy Head of the President’s Office informed Liis Mure about the priority tasks in the context of Ukraine's implementation of the Euro-Atlantic integration strategy.
The parties also praised the cooperation between Ukraine and Estonia on international sites, primarily taking into account the non-permanent membership of the Republic of Estonia in the UN Security Council this year.
