Russian forces working out "new ways of tactical action," including in occupied territories

According to the report, combat coordination of motorized infantry, tank platoons, and artillery batteries has been set up at more than 20 training grounds – in Volgograd, Astrakhan, and Rostov regions, as well as Stavropol, Kuban, North Ossetia, Chechnya, and Karachay-Cherkessia. In addition, combat training is underway in Armenia, the occupied Crimea, and the occupied territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
It is reported that battalion tactical groups will be working out "new ways of tactical action" as part of various types of reconnaissance fire and strike complexes, including counter-battery, aviation, and sniper units.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on January 11, live-fire drills kicked off in the Western Military District of Russia at the training grounds in Voronezh, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Smolensk involving about 3,000 troops and nearly 300 armored vehicles.
According to Ukrainian and Western intelligence agencies, nearly 100,000 Russian troops have been amassed near the border with Ukraine.
