EU ready to support Ukraine in cyber security capacity development
“As noted by EU Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi, the European side is ready to cooperate in the current projects of the Service and will provide proposals for their support after review,” the press service of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine informs.
"You have to move in this direction very fast if you want to have concrete results. Thank you for what you are doing in the field of cyber security," the EU representative said.
According to the Service, a number of important projects are currently being implemented to strengthen Ukraine's cyber resilience, including the creation of the National Center for Reservation of State Information Resources and the formation of a secure Internet access system.
As reported, on the night of January 14, hackers massively attacked the websites of the Ukrainian government agencies: the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the State Emergency Service, and the State Treasury. The Security Service of Ukraine assured that there no personal data was leaked as a result of the hacker attack. The operation of websites is already restored.
