Biden, Erdogan top advisors discuss Russian aggression against Ukraine

U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Ibrahim Kalin, Spokesperson and Chief Advisor to the President of Turkey, in a phone call discussed joint efforts to deter further Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to a press release issued by the White House.

“They underscored their shared commitment to both ongoing diplomacy and joint efforts to deter further Russian aggression against Ukraine,” reads the statement.

The advisors also discussed regional issues, including efforts by Turkey and Armenia to normalize relations.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would visit Ukraine this week.

Erdogan earlier stated that Turkey’s position on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty is unwavering.
