Group of Lithuanian deputies to visit Ukraine

A delegation of Lithuanian deputies, led by Vice Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Paulius Saudargas, will be on an official visit to Kyiv on February 16-17 to express support for Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to the Lithuanian parliament’s website.

It is noted that the delegation of the Seimas will be present at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday morning. A meeting with the leadership of Ukraine’s Parliament and Cabinet of Ministers will then take place.

Possible meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also being coordinated, as well as an extended remote sitting of the Lithuanian Seimas Committee on National Security and Defense.

It is expexted that Laurynas Kasciunas, chairman of National Security and Defense Committee, Raimundas Lopata, chairman of Committee for the Future, Zygimantas Pavilionis and Emanuelis Zingeris, members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs will arrive in Kyiv.

As Ukrinform reported, the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are planning to visit Ukraine in the near future due to concerns over a possible Russian invasion.
