Erdogan hopes to arrange Zelensky-Putin meeting in Turkey

Ukrinform
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he hopes to arrange a trilateral meeting between the presidents of Ukraine, Turkey and Russia in Istanbul or Ankara.

Erdogan told this to journalists following his visit to the UAE, Hurriyet reports.

According to him, this intention will be discussed in a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"During our meeting, President Zelensky noted that he was positive about the trilateral meeting in the format of Putin, Zelensky and Erdogan. If Putin has a positive attitude to this issue, I hope we will be able to organize such a meeting in Istanbul or Ankara. In addition, I want to know Putin's opinion during a phone call," Erdogan said.

According to him, the war in the region "will not bring anything good."

Erdogan has repeatedly stated that Turkey is ready to make efforts to reduce tensions in the region. During his visit to Kyiv on February 3, Erdogan said Turkey was ready to host a summit at the level of leaders or talks at the technical level.
