EU foreign ministers call on Putin not to recognize independence of CADLR
"While we were holding discussions in the format of the Council of EU, we followed the discussion at the Russian Security Council with great concern. We understand that the final decision has not yet been made. And we call on President Putin to respect international law and the Minsk agreements, and we expect him not to recognize the independence of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. We are ready to respond with a strong and united front if he decides to do so," EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said at a press conference following the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As reported, the EU Foreign Affairs Council met in Brussels today to discuss, among other things, the security crisis caused by Russia's military build-up along Ukraine's borders and its provocative behavior in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
