Kuleba calls for more sanctions against Russia to stop Putin
“To stop Putin from further aggression, we call on partners to impose more sanctions on Russia now. First decisive steps were taken yesterday, and we are grateful for them. Now the pressure needs to step up to stop Putin. Hit his economy and cronies. Hit more. Hit hard. Hit now,” Kuleba posted on Twitter.
On February 21, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the recognition of the independence of the “L/DPR” puppet entities and signed the relevant decrees.
On February 22, at an emergency press conference at the Kremlin, Putin said that Russia recognized the "DPR" and the "LPR" within Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Russia's decision to recognize self-proclaimed "republics" in the temporarily occupied territories of eastern Ukraine was condemned by world leaders, organizations and countries. Their statements say that the recognition of illegal entities in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions is a violation of international law, a gross violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
