Zelensky wants Russia to give Ukraine clear security guarantees

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a joint press conference with President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and President of Poland Andrzej Duda in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Currently, Ukraine is not a member of any security alliance. We defend ourselves on our own, with the support of our partners. But Ukrainians are dying. That is why Ukraine needs security guarantees: clear, concrete, immediate. We want to know that we can protect our people, our homes. and not only on our own, there is a need for support from other partners.

Taking into account the fact that there are 150,000 Russian troops on the border now, and the fact that there are temporarily occupied territories, I believe that Russia should be among the countries that provide clear security guarantees," Zelensky said.

The President stressed that he had repeatedly invited the president of the Russian Federation to sit down at the negotiating table and speak because "this is a matter of dialogue, not conditions."

Zelensky stressed that the security architecture of the world and Europe needed "renovation" and noted that "Ukraine is seen" in this architecture.

As reported, the presidents of Lithuania and Poland pay working visits to Ukraine on Wednesday.
