Romania supports Ukraine's membership in the European Union.
“I am grateful to Romania for its significant contribution to the defense capabilities of our country. I am grateful to Klaus Iohannis for supporting Ukraine's membership in the European Union. We feel the political and defense support of our partners,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky posted on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
The day before, the Government of Romania adopted a decision to send ammunition and military equipment, fuel, and medical equipment to Ukraine.
On February 28, the Ukrainian authorities appealed to the European Union for Ukraine’s immediate accession under a new special procedure.
