Podolyak: Ukraine's position in talks with Russia remains steadfast
"Our position remains steadfast: ceasefire, withdrawal of troops, and strict security guarantees with specific formulas," Adviser to the Head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podolyak posted on Telegram.
He added that the statements by the Russian side were only their requests, all statements were aimed, among other things, to provoke tension in the media.
As reported, Podolyak asks those commenting on how to fight and negotiate to make a pause. He also says that he is aware of the current values of Ukraine and how powerful Ukraine is, assuring that no Ukraine’s interests will be surrendered during the talks, especially for sake of the children who are sitting in basements under Russian fire and for the heroes who are dying on the battlefield.
Meanwhile, the media report that the Russian delegation head, Vladimir Medinsky, is convinced that "positions on Ukraine’s neutral status have been brought nearer" at the talks between Moscow and Kyiv. Also, according to media reports, Medinsky noted that the delegations reached a "fifty-fifty" agreement on demilitarization, while regarding denazification "the situation is rather strange because Ukrainian colleagues believe that there are no Nazi entities in Ukraine."
On February 24, Russian president Putin announced the beginning of a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops shell and destroy infrastructure, massively fire on residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and ballistic missiles.
