Parliament appoints new Agrarian Policy and Food Minister

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dismissed Roman Leshchenko from the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and appointed Mykola Solskyi, already former Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, to this post.

As MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak (the Holos party faction) posted on Telegram, Leshchenko's resignation was supported by 321 parliamentarians. In turn, 294 MPs voted for the appointment of Solskyi to the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

On March 24, the Verkhovna Rada received a resignation letter from Roman Leshchenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. He was appointed to this position on December 17, 2020.

In 2019, Mykola Solskyi was elected as a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation from the Servant of the People political party. He chaired the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.
