Support for Ukraine: Dzheppar holds 16 meetings within Doha Forum
"On March 26-27, I paid a working visit to Qatar, where the 20th Doha Forum 2022 was held under the patronage of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. Without exaggeration, Ukraine is a top issue at the leading forum in the Gulf," Dzheppar posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
As part of the event, the First Deputy Foreign Minister took part in two thematic sessions "Disinformation and the war for truth" and "Aggression against Ukraine: crucial moment for European security", a high-level working lunch, and held 16 high-level working meetings to consolidate international support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
It is emphasized that the cross-cutting topic of the forum, which was discussed in most speeches, was Russia's aggression against Ukraine and its consequences for the future of world civilization.
Dzheppar said that Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Al Thani assured her of full support for Ukraine in the fight against the Russian aggressor.
In addition, in the context of Ukraine–Qatar relations, the diplomat held working talks with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani, Chief of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Sheikha al-Mayassa Al Thani, Chairperson of the Qatar Museums, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
"In particular, the Qatari side announced its intention to provide humanitarian and financial-economic assistance to Ukraine in the near future," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
Dzheppar also had talks with the foreign ministers of Turkey and Indonesia; Kathryn Campbell, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, and Paweł Jabłoński, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. A wide range of issues related to providing assistance to Ukraine and increasing sanctions on Russia on behalf of Dmytro Kuleba was discussed.
Dzheppar also held talks with Head of Strategic Council on Foreign Relations of Iran Kamal Kharazi, former foreign minister, Syrian opposition leader Salem al-Meslet, and Conservative British MP John Whittingdale who assured of unwavering support for Ukraine.
Issues of cooperation with international organizations were discussed, primarily with the UN, UNICEF, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the head of the UNDP, and the former OSCE Secretary General.
A new stage of the Russian-Ukrainian war began on February 24. Russian troops shell and destroy key infrastructure, massively fire on residential areas using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles.
