There can be no compromise on sovereignty and territorial integrity – Zelensky
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his video address, commenting on negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Of course, Ukraine is willing to negotiate and will continue the negotiation process. To the extent that really depends on us. We expect to get the result. There must be real security for us, for our state, for sovereignty, for our people. Russian troops must leave the occupied territories. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be guaranteed. There can be no compromise on sovereignty and our territorial integrity. And there will not be any. These are clear principles. This is a clear vision of the possible outcome,” Zelensky told.
In his words, the signals we hear from the negotiating platform can be called positive. But, they do not silence the explosion of Russian shells, Zelensky stressed.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine can see all the risks and will not trust the words of the enemy.
The President of Ukraine also addressed the social media users, who were actively discussing the potential risks of what the Ukrainian delegation announced to regulate the military situation.
“I want to remind one thing: we live in a democratic state and fight for our freedom. For freedom for our people. Therefore, any decisions that are important for all our people must be made not by one person or a group of people with any political views, but by all our people. The wise people of Ukraine,” Zelensky stressed.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians.
