Zelensky, Michel discuss support for Ukraine, EU accession criteria

"President of the European Council Charles Michel, Ukraine's great friend, is in Kyiv today. We discussed sanctions against Russia, defensive and financial support for our state, and answers to the questionnaire on compliance with EU criteria," Zelensky posted on Telegram following a meeting with Michel in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.

The President of Ukraine thanked the President of the European Council for a meaningful meeting and solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

As reported, European Council President Charles Michel has arrived in Ukraine.

On April 18, Ukraine submitted to the European Commission the answers to a questionnaire on compliance with the political and economic criteria for EU membership to acquire the status of a candidate country.
