If there are no legal instruments in international law to hold Russian war criminals accountable, Ukraine will create ones to this end.

That’s according to Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, who spoke in a video feed on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

The Foreign Minister stressed that punishment for the crimes will inevitably come and that President Volodymyr Zelensky keeps the issue under own control.

Kuleba said that the head of state recently convened a large meeting, where he clearly designated the roles of who is doing what to "hunt down Russian criminals", employing all the necessary legal tools.

"And if there is no such instrument in international law, we will create it, but they will be ultimately held accountable for what they’ve done," the minister said.

As Ukrinform reported, on April 22, Danilov stated that Ukraine already has a special body that will be dealing with prosecuting Russian war criminals, regardless of their place of residence or travel destination.
