EU may endorse sixth sanctions package against Russia as soon as today – Yermak

The relevant statement was made by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The EU may endorse the sixth sanctions package as soon as today. As EU High Representative Josep Borrell said, there were tough talks, but it is necessary to endorse a decision, including a Russian oil embargo,” Yermak wrote.

In his words, it is important for the EU to show a strong stance, as Russia’s key objective is to split unity and use it as a weakness of the EU, and this cannot be allowed.
