Dzhemilev believes victory in war to lead to Crimea deoccupation

That’s according to the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Dzhemilev, who spoke in an interview with the Turkish outlet Yeni Şafak, Ukrinform reports.

"We are confident that we will win this war. The great motivation of our people is to fight till the end. Recent polls showed that 90% of the population is ready to fight for the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity. Material losses have reached more than a trillion dollars... War is grim, but as a result of this war, there will be a possibility of deoccupying Crimea," Dzhemilev said.

The Crimean Tatar leader recalled that after returning to Crimea following forcible deportation in the Soviet era, Crimean Tatars were again forced to leave their homes due to the illegal occupation of the peninsula by Russia.

"Now the regime in Crimea is worse than the Soviet one. People are again forced to flee their homeland. People who lived in freedom for 23 years are no longer willing to get into this prison," Dzhemilev emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Dzhemilev called on the residents of Crimea to protest the illegal mobilization which is ongoing on the peninsula.
