Zelensky: Netherlands among top ten partners of Ukraine in terms of security assistance

The Netherlands is among the top ten partners of Ukraine in terms of the security assistance provided.

"We held meaningful negotiations which once again proved our readiness, the readiness of our states, Ukraine and the Netherlands, to work together and as effectively as possible in the interests of the whole of Europe. A lot has already been done. In terms of the security assistance provided, the Netherlands is among the top ten partners of Ukraine," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a briefing with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In this context, the President pointed out the decision of the Dutch government to provide Ukraine with additional heavy weapons. He also noted that the government of the partner country had allocated recently 200 million euros in additional financial support for Ukraine. According to Zelensky, this decision will help finance payments for Ukrainian teachers, health workers and pensioners.

The President of Ukraine also underscored that the Netherlands had made a significant contribution to the sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation. He emphasized that work on increasing this pressure should continue.

President Zelensky said that he had informed the Prime Minister of the Netherlands about the situation on the front line and options for its development.

"We must do everything possible to drive out all the occupiers as soon as possible and restore normal, democratic life, and preferably on the entire territory of our independent state," Zelensky emphasized.

He added that during the meeting with Rutte, they discussed what new steps could ensure the achievement of the above-mentioned goal, in particular, defense, sanctions and economic ones.

As reported, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte is on a working visit to Ukraine.
