President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared his readiness to provide all necessary support for the start of the negotiation process between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, including assistance and mediation in the Istanbul process.

Erdoğan expressed a relevant intention during a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Directorate of Communications of the Administration of the President of Turkey.

Turkey's greatest desire is the establishment of peace in Ukraine, Erdoğan emphasized. He also stated that the efforts were being made according to the plan prepared by the United Nations regarding the supply of Ukrainian grain products to the world market.

Erdoğan noted that the solution between Ukraine and Russia would in any case be made through diplomacy, so the negotiating table should be open.

"President Erdoğan expressed his readiness to provide all necessary support, including facilitation and mediation within the framework of the Istanbul process," the statement reads.

Erdoğan also thanked Zelensky for his greetings in Turkish on the occasion of Kurban Bayrami.

According to the directorate of communications, President Erdoğan also had a conversation with Vladimir Putin, during which he said that it was time to take action on the UN plan to create a safe corridor for grain exports in the Black Sea.

According to Erdoğan, the war between Ukraine and Russia should end with a "long and just peace" and this should be achieved through negotiations. "Turkey is ready to make all possible contributions to revitalizing the negotiation process," he said.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone call with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during which they discussed the importance of unblocking Ukrainian ports and resuming grain exports, as well as preventing Russia from taking Ukrainian grain out of the occupied territories.
