U.S. welcomes appointment of specialized anti-corruption prosecutor

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“The United States welcomes the appointment of Oleksandr Klymenko as the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor. His office plays a crucial role in Ukraine's anti-corruption infrastructure and is a key element of Ukraine's defense against Russia's influence and aggression,” she wrote.

The ambassador has added that she looks forward to working with Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin and the Specialized Anticorruption Prosecutor to support the rule of law that is so essential to Ukraine's independent, democratic, and prosperous future.

As Ukrinform reported, on July 28, Oleksandr Klymenko was appointed as the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
