President Volodymyr Zelensky has decried recent rumors of plans to move Valeriy Zaluzhnyi from the post of the Ukrainian Army’s Commander-in-Chief to another position in government.

The president addressed the issue, speaking at a Kyiv press conference on Tuesday, August 23, an Ukrinrform correspondent reports.

"I have no plans to transfer Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhnyi anywhere, we work as a team," Zelensky stressed.

The head of state emphasized that it is very important that there is a team, where commanders in various fields are working alongside each other.

Earlier, a number of media outlets circulated reports, citing unnamed sources, that the president allegedly intended to make a reshuffle, appointing Valeriy Zaluzhnyi to another position in government, releasing him from the post of Ukraine Army’s Commander-in-Chief.
