Bulgarian embassy resumes work in Kyiv

Ukrinform
The Bulgarian embassy in Kyiv has resumed operations as of September 12.

That’s according to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, cited by The Sofia Globe, Ukrinform reports.

The ministry describes the step as a “further sign of the strong Bulgarian support for Ukraine.”

“Our country, which continues to provide all possible assistance to Ukraine, including its citizens displaced by the war, categorically condemns Russian military aggression and supports the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including territorial waters,” reads the statement.

The embassy will be headed by a chargé d’affaires, employing a limited staff, according to the report.

Part of consular services will be resumed by a reduced team.

The full spectrum of such services will be provided in full after the communication channels with Bulgaria are completely restored, the foreign ministry said.

As Ukrinform reported, early June, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said 50 embassies had resumed full-fledged operations in the capital of Ukraine. The leader noted that credentials from foreign ambassadors would now be accepted in the St Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv.
