Macron, Truss agree to stay in touch to boost assistance to Ukraine

During a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Liz Truss agreed to stay in touch to boost assistance to Ukraine.

As the Elysee Palace reports, the leaders expressed their wish for close coordination between France and the UK in the international arena. Macron and Truss analyzed the situation in Ukraine, in particular around the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

"They agreed to stay in touch to strengthen security, humanitarian and economic support for Ukraine, as well as to respond to the needs expressed by Kyiv in the best possible way," reads the statement.

It is noted that Macron and Truss also discussed the Russian aggression's implications for global energy security. Both leaders expressed their desire for a coordinated and unified approach between France and the United Kingdom.

Macron and Truss also discussed further steps to deepen bilateral relations between the countries.
