Canada supports Ukraine’s application to join NATO

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Canada Melanie Jolie stated this at a press conference in Washington, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, Jolie said the Canada’s position remains unchanged: “We believe in NATO's open-door policy”.

She also stressed that Canada have always supported Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.

As Ukrinform reported, on September 30, President Volodymyr Zelensky, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal signed Ukraine’s application for accelerated accession to NATO.
