The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, located in the city of Enerhodar temporarily occupied by Russia, remains a Ukrainian facility.
According to Ukrinform, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, Reuters reports.
" This is a matter that has to do with international law. […] We want the war to stop immediately, and of course the position of the IAEA is that this facility is a Ukrainian facility," Grossi said.
After his visit to Kyiv, Grossi is to leave for Moscow for negotiations.
Russian troops seized the ZNPP in March. The nuclear power plant is the largest in Europe and continues to be operated by Ukrainian staff.
