Kyrgyzstan has decided to call off a military drill of the Collective Security Treaty Organization forces, initially scheduled to be held on its territory in October.

This was reported by the press service of the country’s defense ministry, Ukrinform wrote, citing Radio Azattyk.

It is emphasized that the command and staff exercises with the CSTO peacekeeping forces, "Indestructible Brotherhood-2022," were to take place on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic in October 2022.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on September 14, hostilities broke out on Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan border. On the morning of September 16, the situation aggravated as the parties traded blame for the escalation. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan also accused each other of employing heavy weapons in the conflict area.

The Kyrgyzstan authorities called on the CSTO to actively participate in the resolution of tensions on the country's border with Tajikistan. Kyrgyzstan also called on the CSTO to amend its statutory documents to prevent armed incursions and resolve all differences between states by peaceful means.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
