President puts into effect NSDC sanctions against Yanukovych, Kurchenko, Deripaska
The decree to that effect, No. 694/2022 of October 12, has been published on the website of the head of state, Ukrinform reports.
"To put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated October 12, 2022 'On the application and introduction of changes to personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)' (attached)," the decree reads.
According to the decision, sanctions are applied to Yanukovych, Kurchenko, Deripaska and Lebedyev. Sanctions provide for the blocking of the assets of the specified persons, namely the temporary deprivation of the right to use and dispose of assets belonging to them, as well as assets in relation to which they can directly or indirectly (through other individuals or legal entities) perform actions identical in content to the right to dispose of them. Sanctions have been introduced for ten years.
The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the NSDC decision put into effect by the decree.
On September 10, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposed expanding sanctions against traitors: ex-president Viktor Yanukovych and ex-Minister of Defense Pavlo Lebedev, as well as oligarchs Serhiy Kurchenko and Oleg Deripaska.
