U.S. not going to engage in any negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine – Biden
He said this in a statement at a press conference in Bali, where he met with the Chinese leader, Ukrinform reports with reference to the White House.
“First of all, it was a significant, significant victory for Ukraine. A significant victory. And I can do nothing but applaud the courage, determination, and capacity of the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian military,” said the head of the White House when asked to comment on what the retaking of Kherson by Ukrainian forces means for him.
Biden stressed that Ukrainian are amazing and noted that the United States will continue “to provide the capability for the Ukrainian people to defend themselves.”
“And we are not going to engage in any negotiation (without participation of Ukrainian side – ed.). There’s nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine. This is a decision (on the timing of any negotiations – ed.) Ukraine has to make,” Biden said.
He also suggested that combat activity at the front in Ukraine may "slow down a bit" due to weather conditions and the inability of military units to easily move around the country.
As Ukrinform reported, U.S. President Joe Biden is currently in Bali, Indonesia, where he has already met with Chinese President Xi Jinping ahead of the G20 leaders' summit.
