Erdogan believes war in Ukraine can be stopped through diplomacy
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this at the 38th meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the first day, we have worked hard to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine and to stop the bloodshed. Taking advantage of our close friendship with both leaders, we brought the Russian and Ukrainian authorities in our country closer together for various reasons. The opening of the grain corridor through the Black Sea and the exchange of prisoners showed that a diplomatic solution is possible," Erdogan said.
He emphasized that more than 11 million tonnes of grain had been transported through the Black Sea Grain Corridor.
"We believe that the extension of the agreement on the Black Sea Grain Corridor for 120 days from November 19 will to some extent alleviate the problems of our African brothers," he said.
