US Senate passes funding bill with multibillion-dollar support for Ukraine

The US Senate passed a $1.7 trillion funding bill, which also includes $44.9 billion in assistance to Ukraine and allies in Europe to counter Russian aggression.
The bill was passed on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
It was supported by 68 legislators, while 29 senators voted against.
The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on similar document on Thursday.
When the bill is approved by both houses of Congress, it is sent to the president for signing.
