Next year, Ukraine should be represented in 30 African countries - Zelensky
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, who spoke at the conference of Ukraine ambassadors, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We are already rebooting relations with dozens of African countries. Next year, we have to strengthen them. Ten countries have already been designated in Africa where new embassies of Ukraine will be opened," Zelensky said.
He added that the concept of the Ukraine-Africa Trade House has also been developed, involving the opening of its representative offices in the capitals of the most promising countries of the African continent.
"In addition to the existing representation of Ukraine in 10 African countries, together with new embassies and trading houses, we should achieve representation in 30 countries of the African continent," the head of state said.
As reported, in October, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba made a tour across African countries, the first in the history of Ukrainian diplomacy. He visited Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, and Kenya. A number of specific bilateral agreements were reached during the tour. The first major Ukraine-Africa conference is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
