Zelensky congratulates Sweden on start of EU Council presidency

President Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated the Swedish government on the start of its presidency of the Council of the European Union, expressing hope for further steps towards Ukraine’s integration into the EU.
“Congratulations to the Swedish PM on the start of Sweden’s presidency of the EU Council. I wish successful implementation of the priorities of the Presidency! We’re expecting further practical steps on the path of Ukraine’s integration into the EU,” Zelensky wrote on his Twitter account.
As reported by Ukrinform, Sweden took over the presidency of the Council of the European Union from the Czech Republic on January 1. Its program objectives include four key priorities, namely: "security-unity", "resilience-competitiveness", "prosperity-green and energy transition" and "democratic values and the rule of law as our foundation".
