Latvia and its allies will support Ukraine for as long as it takes – Saeima speaker

The press service of the Latvian parliament said this in response to the request of an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Latvia consistently supports Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. We are united by solidarity based on our common past and experience, as well as on a common vision of the future in a safe and democratic Europe," Smiltens said.

He also added: "Ukraine can fully count on the political, military, financial and humanitarian support of Latvia and its allies for as long as it takes."

This is how the Latvian parliament speaker responded to a request to comment on a video address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which he delivered on January 3.

Zelensky said in the address that the Russian leadership would do everything possible to try to change the situation in the war against Ukraine. Sccording to him, now is "the moment when we, together with our partners, have to strengthen our defense."
