Kuleba calls on European Parliament to support resolution on special tribunal for Russia

“I call on members of the European Parliament to support the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine by passing a relevant resolution this week. No impunity for Russia’s political and military leadership. They must be held accountable,” Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

As reported, Ukraine took the initiative to create an international special tribunal to prosecute the leadership of Russia for committing the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky formed a working group led by Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak to deal with the issue of creating a special tribunal.

The creation of such a tribunal was supported by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

Kyiv considers several options for creating the special tribunal, one of which is based on an agreement between Ukraine and the UN that can adopt a relevant resolution.
