Minister Reznikov after Ramstein-8 meeting: Ukraine Army to receive more weapons and ammo

Following the 8th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Air Base, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced that Ukraine would receive more weapons and ammunition.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ramstein 8 meeting at Ramstein Air Base has ended. It was a great meeting of friends. The free world stands with Ukraine and applauds brave Ukrainian soldiers and our courageous nation. The Ukrainian Army will receive more weapons and ammo. We will win. Evil will be defeated,” Reznikov wrote.

In addition, Reznikov commented on a number of bilateral meetings, which were held as part of the 8th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

In particular, Reznikov met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloys Austin.

“I appreciate US efforts on behalf of Ukraine’s freedom and independence. Bradleys and Patriots will change the course of this war. Thank you for the leadership!” Reznikov noted.

Reznikov and Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom Ben Wallace discussed the capabilities of Challenger 2 MBT being delivered to the Ukrainian Army.

“These actions will help us to prevail over russian tyranny and liberate our land. Our cooperation will continue and expand,” Reznikov stressed.

Reznikov also met with Canadian National Defence Minister Anita Anand. The Ukrainian minister noted that the country is looking forward to the delivery of Canada-funded NASAMS.

“These systems will save countless Ukrainian lives. Thank you, Canada! We will win together,” Reznikov wrote.

Additionally, Reznikov expressed gratitude to Polish National Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak for the morally courageous decision to provide Leopard 2 tanks to the Ukrainian Army.

“Ukraine will always remember Poland’s support. A tank coalition will be established. The aggressor will be punished,” Reznikov emphasized.

At the same time, Reznikov thanked Lithuanian National Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas for another package of security assistance to the Ukrainian Army. 

“We have won together in the past, and we will win this war together now. Our mission – to restore peace and justice to Europe – will be accomplished,” Reznikov noted.

In addition, Reznikov met with Danish Defence Minister Jakob Ellemann-Jensen and thanked him personally for the decision to deliver CAESAR self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine.

Reznikov also expressed gratitude to Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur “for all Estonia does” to help Ukraine defend itself..

“I can guarantee that you invested 1% of GDP not only in the Ukrainian Army but also in your own security. With friends like you we will definitely win,” Reznikov emphasized.

As part of the Ramstein-8 meeting, Reznikov met with Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson. In his words, CV90 and Archers will help brave Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield.

“Had a fruitful meeting with my Finnish colleague, Mikko Savola at Ramstein 8. Your country has shown great for support for Ukraine and we will never forget your solidarity. I believe in our common future and integration with NATO,” Reznikov wrote.

Additionally, Reznikov met with Minister of Defence of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren and expressed gratitude to the Dutch government for all the security assistance provided to Ukraine.

Reznikov also commented on his meeting with Turkish National Defence Minister Hukusi Akar: “We highly value all activities of Turkish government in supporting Ukraine, especially for releasing our POWs. Our common Black Sea will secure and free for all good people.”

Reznikov and Albanian Defence Minister Niko Peleshi discussed the ways and means of strengthening the Ukrainian Army. Reznikov thanked Peleshi for everything that the Albanian side had done, does and will do to help Ukraine protect itself.

“Congratulated German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius on the appointment to his new position.  We had a frank discussion on Leopards 2. To be continued,” Reznikov noted.

The Ukrainian minister also thanked the German government and the German people for their military assistance to Ukraine and hospitality.
