Polish Defence Minister believes ‘tank coalition’ building will end in success
The relevant statement was made by Polish National Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, following the 8th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Air Base, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Hope comes from the fact that defense ministers of 15 countries met on the sidelines of today’s conference and we talked about this topic,” Błaszczak said.
In his words, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius noted that he had been on his second day in office and had not yet been ready to provide conclusions. However, Błaszczak expressed confidence that ‘tank coalition’ building will end in success, similar to the supply of Patriot air defense missile systems.
“We want to create a coalition of countries that have Leopard 2 tanks. We want to build a coalition of those who will donate such tanks to Ukraine,” Błaszczak emphasized.
According to Błaszczak, the supply of Leopard 2 tanks will be discussed further.
A reminder that the participants in the 8th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Air Base failed to approve a decision to supply main battle tanks to Ukraine.
