President Zelensky, ICC Prosecutor Khan meet in Kyiv
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram, following his meeting with Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Karim Khan in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Since the first day of Russia’s full-scale invasion, our state has felt the support of the International Criminal Court. During a meeting with Prosecutor of the ICC Karim Khan, I noted that the heinous crimes committed by the Russian occupiers on the territory of Ukraine must not go unpunished. The perpetrators must be brought to justice,” the President of Ukraine wrote.
In his words, signals of support and the importance of justice are essential to Ukraine.
“It means that we are not alone in our desire to achieve justice for Ukraine. With your help, we can bring justice to Europe and the world. So that such heinous crimes could not be repeated in the future even in theory,” Zelensky added.
