Shmyhal, Jakobsdóttir discuss cooperation between Ukraine, Iceland in energy sector, sanctions against Russia
The relevant statement was made by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Energy, sanctions and punishing Russia for its crimes are the main areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Iceland,” Shmyhal wrote.
In his words, the aforementioned priorities were listed in the Joint Declaration signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir.
According to Shmyhal, Ukraine also counts on the support of Iceland, which is currently presiding over the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, during the fourth summit, where the Ukrainian Peace Formula will be considered.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Iceland and the Icelandic people for their assistance and solidarity.
